the work of the artist frank ocean has inspired my photography in many ways over the years. a song of his that I love, "nights", has been a partial source of inspiration for several photos I've taken since the summer of 2016.

the song is broken up into three very distinct parts that represent different moods/times of day - sunrise/midday, sunset, after dark - often times while I edit my photos "nights" will play and influence my aesthetic choices.

along with frank ocean, I am also often very inspired by the visuals found in many anime movies - such as "Akira" by Katsuhiro Otomo and "Spirited Away" by Hayao Miyazaki.

I want to represent the song and its three distinct themes by going through my personal archive collecting photos that I feel represent one of the three different themes, along with video pieces from a few different anime movies that also represent one of the three themes.

I will then put these photos along with the anime movie clips together in a video format to the rhythm of the song, showing a wide series of archived images throughout my years in photography in relation to these great inspirations.
